Objective Participants have a better understanding of how the environment relates to their area of work/cooperation sector and are more capable to identify and implement appropriate actions to integrate the environment (including climate change-related aspects) at the various stages of the operations cycle and in relation to the main aid delivery methods. Participation in the course entitled "Environmental Integration in EC Development Co-operation: An Introduction" is a pre-requisite for participation in this module (no overlap of contents). Target audience
Staff involved in the programming and/or management of EC development co-operation activities (primarily AIDCO, DEV, RELEX and Delegation-based staff).
Contents - Environmental integration in multi-annual programming (including mid-term reviews)
- Tools and methods for integrating the environment (including climate change aspects) in projects, sector policy support programmes and general budget support
- Integration tools include Country Environmental Profiles, the “green” logical framework, Environmental Impact Assessment, Strategic Environmental Assessment and Environmental Performance Review
Note that this course merges the contents of the former “module B” and“module C” of the environmental integration course series. Duration 3days
