Objectives
Participants are more motivated to address the environmental dimension (including climate change-related aspects) in development co-operation interventions. They are:
- more aware of the links between environment and development;
- more aware of how the environment relates to their area of work/cooperation sector;
- they get an overview of the main environmental integration tools in relation to the various phases of the cycle of operations and the main aid delivery methods.
Participation in this course is a pre-requisite for participation in the more advanced, 3-day seminar entitled "Environmental Integration in EC Development Co-operation: Tools and Methods for the Cycle of Operations".
Target audience
Staff involved in the programming and/or management of EC development co-operation activities (primarily AIDCO, DEV, RELEX and Delegation-based staff).
